2020 Call for IFCM Board of Directions Election
Published: Jan 29,2020

The International Federation for Choral Music (IFCM) calls for candidates to fill positions on the IFCM Board of Directors and the Presidency for the three-year term, beginning in August 2020.

Based on Bylaws and internal policies, the IFCM relies on its membership to elect the positions of responsibility that will lead the organization forward. These unpaid positions are the President and Board.

According to the Bylaws, approved by the IFCM membership at the General Assembly in Lisbon, Portugal, in July 2019, the Board of IFCM shall be constituted as follows:

  1. The president, directly elected by the Membership
  2. A maximum of five (5) representatives from IFCM’s Founding Members, to be nominated by the Founding Members in good standing
  3. A maximum of ten (10) Board members elected by the Membership
  4. Up to three (3) additional Board members who can be co-opted by the Board as described under points 1 to 3.

The Vice-Presidents, the Treasurer, and the Secretary (constituting the Executive Committee together with the President) shall be elected from among these Board members.

All candidates for these positions must be individual IFCM members or officially nominated by a member choir or member organization.

For all nominations/applications by IFCM individual members, choirs, or associations, each candidate is required to submit their vision for the IFCM as part of the nomination/application process. Candidates to the Presidency are therefore asked to submit their vision for the future of IFCM together with their nomination/application, in addition to their CV and the application form here below. Other candidates to the Board are asked to provide a resume and a brief statement of their work and standing in the choral world in their nomination/application form.

In 2020, the right to vote for these positions can only be made in person at the IFCM General Assembly in Auckland, 15 July 2020, after prior online registration.

Candidatures to the Presidency and the Board have to be submitted by 01 March 2020, at 00.00 GTM .
