During the Closing Ceremony of the World Choral EXPO in Lisbon, on July 31, 2019, Maestra María Guinand received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the International Federation for Choral Music.
María has always firmly supported the idea that the International Federation for Choral Music is the most important network for institutional, personal, and professional cooperation in the field of choral music. She has been, and continues to be, one of the most prominent leaders of our institution and a tireless, invaluable, and unreserved supporter. For all of this, and most importantly, for her continuous and unconditional friendship, the International Federation for Choral Music owes her a debt of gratitude and was honoured to present her with the Lifetime Achievement Award and the title of Honorary Member.

Due to her many choral commitments, María could not be present at the Award Ceremony but we were fortunate to have the presence of her husband, Maestro Alberto Grau, who received the award in her name.
