The international choir project EuroChoir of the European Choral Association takes place in a different country every year. This summer it is Switzerland’s turn to enjoy EuroChoir concerts!
After an intensive week of rehearsals in Lenk in the mountains of the canton of Bern, the choir consisting of selected young singers from all over Europe will start its Swiss tour on Friday, 15 July 2022, at Peterskirche in Basel. The EuroChoir will be welcomed by the local women's vocal ensemble Les Voix. On Saturday, 16 July 2022, the EuroChoir will perform its programme as part of the Flimsfestival at Eventhalle Flims. It will be hosted by the young local choir consonus vokalensemble. The tour will conclude with a concert on Sunday, 17 July 2022, at Klosterkirche Rheinau as part of the Rheinauer Konzerte together with Vokalensemble Zürich West.
In addition to works by F. Martin, F. Poulenc, and F. Mendelssohn, the concerts will also feature the world premiere of the commissioned composition "How dare you!", named after the famous speech by Greta Thunberg and written by Swiss composer Valentin Villard.
