Qiandongnan is renowned as the land of song and dance worldwide, boasting a rich and diverse ethnic culture and unique folk arts, including the Dong Grand Song, a UNESCO intangible cultural heritage, and the Miao Flying Song, a national-level intangible cultural heritage.
Since successfully co-hosting two editions of the China (Qiandongnan) International Folk Song Festival and World Voices Conference with the International Federation for Choral Music (IFCM) in 2017 and 2018, Qiandongnan has become a gathering place for music enthusiasts from around the world to exchange and share their passion.
To further promote Qiandongnan as a well-known ethnic cultural tourism destination internationally and to carry forward the outstanding Chinese traditional culture, Guizhou Province has supported Qiandongnan in organizing the folk song festivals.
The 2024 China Qiandongnan International Folk Song Festival and World Voices Conference, July 20-24, 2024, will be held to develop the brand "Singing in the Countryside — Resounding Village Songs" and strengthen international exchanges and cooperation.
