Conference “Sing Outside the Box” and ECA-EC General Assembly
16-18 November 2018, Uçhisar, Cappadocia, Turkey

We invite you to the 2018 ECA-EC annual event “Sing outside the box”, co-hosted by the Koro Kültürü Dernegi / Choral Culture Association.
Three days to interact, learn, sing and meet with your fellow choral enthusiasts, discover exciting music in unusual venues and develop your European choral network.
The event takes place in the beautiful region of Cappadocia in central Turkey and is accessible through two airports! Quick Overview of your Week-End:

Friday 16 Nov 2018
09:00 to 18:00 [members only]: Membership Day, an opportunity for ECA-EC members to talk about the future of the association, bring in new ideas and develop new models with peers and to present their own projects.
Evening [open to all]: Opening of the Conference, keynote speech of Cem Mansur and musical dinner in a beautiful Caravanserail!

Saturday 17 Nov. 2018
Morning [members only]: ECA-EC General Assembly with Board elections
Afternoon [open to all]: short plenary followed by parallel sessions and interactive (singing) workshops dealing with new approaches to collective singing with a focus on relation to rehearsal and performance spaces, some sessions presenting the Turkish tradition and innovation in choral music.

Evening [open to all]: Concert of the Turkish State Choir in the Gülay Museum

Morning [open to all]: Musical walk with a very special guide, discovering the beautiful Pigeon Valley in music, and exchanging with your new choral friends. Don't forget your walking shoes.
