Fifth Conductors Without Borders in Douala, Cameroon
Published: Jan 31,2024

The Federation of Choral Music of Cameroon organized its fifth session of Conductors Without Borders in Douala, 8-14 January 2024. Originally scheduled for August 2023, the session was postponed to allow choir members and conductors to concentrate on the organization of Africa Cantat 2, which took place in Yaoundé, Cameroon, 1-6 August 2023.

Approximately 30 conductors from all over the country (Douala, Yaoundé, Bafoussam, and Foumbot) participated in the session. The program was technically demanding, considering the experience and prior pedagogical development of the participants. Instruction was facilitated by Thierry Thiébaut, President of A Coeur Joie International. As a result of a partnership with a regional cultural television station, all session activities, including the final concert, were filmed for archival and educational purposes.

The next Conductors Without Borders session will be organized in December 2024.
