The European Choral Association is a member of the European and International Music Councils (EMC and IMC, respectively) and subscribes to the Five Music Rights developed by IMC. The fifth right is the right for all musical artists “to obtain just recognition and fair remuneration for their work”. In the past, this right has often not been fully respected in the choral sector.

Joel also gave an overview of Martin Behrmann's conducting technique, including preliminaries, the stance, the manual apparatus, the signal domains, and the music applications.

During the World Symposium on Choral Music 2023 in İstanbul, Jean Sturm, Executive Director of Musica International (www.musicanet.org), presented "Building a concert program using online choral resources: the Musica project". Interesting questions came up, such as "Can I search for sad pieces in Musica?" On Facebook, a choir conductor was looking for “a piece that would convey anxiety/worries”. Another conductor needed a happy song to end a middle-school choir concert.

The idea of creating an IFCM Youth Committee came after a successful program for young choral and cultural managers at the World Choral EXPO in 2022. Noticing the interest of these young participants for IFCM and recognizing the benefits that IFCM could gain from their feedback and vision, the IFCM Board of Directors decided to establish a YOUNG IFCM - youth committee.
